Take in the beauty of the Cappadocia from a gentle, free-floating
hot air balloon offering a birds-eye-view of the land. The following
information is here to help answer your questions and to prepare
you for your adventure. There is no better way to see the Cappadocia
than by a gentle, free-floating balloon flight over the unique
rock formations (called as fairy chimneys), valleys and vineyards.
You see the layout of the wine country and you may even pick
some of the places you wish to visit later. Our balloons fly daily,
weather permitting, throughout the year. Flying takes place in
the early morning and evening when the winds are at their calmest.
We will encourage you to be involved, right from the start, by
helping the crew to prepare the balloon for flight.
Your flight will last approximately one hour or one and a half
hours, but you should allow three or four hours for the complete
trip. After the flight, on landing, we will toast the flight with
a glass of Champagne and 'Flight Certificates' will be presented
to each passenger. Our retrieve vehicle and crew will be on hand
to help pack away the balloon and return us to the launchsite.
We all do our best to provide the most memorable flights. We use
up-to-date, modern equipment flown by experienced and commercial
licensed pilots.
Departure:
At sunrise every day, weather permitting. (Previous years have
shown a 95% flying record) Pick-up from hotels in the area can
be arranged for no extra charge, and also returns to rejoin tour
groups usually around 9am.
Program:
Ballooning has the best safety record of all air sports. Our
equipment is built to the highest standards of the Turkish Aerospace
Industry, and is tested every year. Your pilot has over 15 years
experience in ballooning and holds a Commercial Pilot's Licence
issued by the Turkish Aviation Association. Your safety is always
our priority!
Pick-up the passengers from the hotel and go to the take-off site
which is carefully chosen depending on the wind direction on that
particular day. We have over 30 different departure points in
the area to ensure the most interesting flight-path, as once airborne
the balloon will travel free with the wind. Preparation of the
equipment takes about 20 minutes and the passengers are welcome
to help or to take photographs as they wish. The flight time is
between 1h and 1h.15 and includes both low contour flying and
also going high enough to see the whole landscape from above.
Because the balloon is separated from the earth, the passengers
experience no sensation of fear or vertigo. It is no colder in
the air than it is on the ground on that particular day. After
the landing and pack-up of the balloon, we offer a celebration
of the excellent local champagne and present the flight, certificates
before returning to the hotel for a late breakfast.
